Thanks Maa

This is a movie I watched over the weekend when I asked one of my friends to give me something to watch over the longweekend as sam and daddy are away in Hyderabad.

The film starts with Five street kids teaming up in pickpocketing a gujarati uncle on platform. Soda leads the team with Municipality while the kiddos including Dhed-Shana, Cutting and Sursuri follow suit. After the cops catch Municipality for telling the truth, he lands up in reformatory and while escaping, comes across a two-day old abandoned baby. When the apathetic society turns a blind eye towards the infant, he becomes his caretaker and decides to reunite the child with his mother. With the help of his group, he runs relentlessly across the city in this quest while keeping hopes of chancing upon his own mother who abandoned him years ago.

What I liked about the film is its not judgmental and mostly original. The way this Kid Municipality, tried to unite the child with mother is interestingly structured through his encounters with unique characters like a druggie cabbie, a philanderer, a prostitute (I loved every scene involving this lady), a eunuch, a priest and more muddled mortals like these. However, there are some areas which needed some re thinking as in the mother of the abandoned how she was able to join work just after 4 days of giving birth and looked ravishing.

Please buy the CD and watch it to know more about the life of kidnapping of kids for ransom, abandonment of kids in hospitals, Street Kids in Mumbai. Instead of thinking what government is doing what as citizens of the country are doing ???? Nothing. Even of every citizen of this country tries to spend 30 mins a week world will be a better place and the concept of street kids will reduce by quite an extent.
