Thank You Sharukh

I particularly never liked Sharukh except for few of his movies. But the other day I was watching an ad for dish TV. I watched this ad many times when I am in between some work (Which is what I am always doing these days) but never saw the beginning. Yesterday I saw the ad from the beginning and was completely touched by it. It may be very commercial that a TV channel made the child laugh and not her new parents. This ad brought our early days as family flash infront of my eyes. There are two things that everyone must note from this particular ad.

Ice breaker moment for every family joined thru adoption

Yes, It is heartening to see more and more couples are going for older children adoption and parenting an adopted child is different from parenting a bio child. Parenting a child adopted at older age is lil more difficult as the child will bring his/her own world along with her/him into the new home. Suddenly it made me think about our own ice breaker moment when we went to the hospital to get the tests done. In our case it was a walk with dogs and cows and it still is one of our favorite past time. The first word Sam ever talked to was Bow wow. She never called us Mommy and Daddy for quite some time. But all our efforts paid when she gained confidence in us.

My hope is that since it is being promoted (Even though not directly) by none other than Badshah or Bollywood, it becomes more acceptable for people who look at adoption as last resort or who look at down upon adoption. Hopefully it will make life easier for people involved in adoption.
